West 3rd Street is one of the quietest great blocks in LA. It runs between Fairfax and La Cienega, tucked under the Beverly Center, and it's full of independent shops that locals know and tourists usually miss. SIR has been cutting here since 2019. Here's the guide.
Why West 3rd Street
It's the easiest part of LA to actually walk. Real sidewalks, low traffic, a row of independent restaurants and boutiques between the Beverly Center and Fairfax. When we opened, we picked 3rd specifically because it felt like a neighborhood — not a strip mall. Six years later, it still does.
Finding us
8474 W 3rd St, Suite #214. Second floor, above the entrance. Take the stairs or the elevator, turn right at the top, and you'll see the door. If you hit the Beverly Center, you've gone too far west.
Parking, honestly
Meters on 3rd are easiest after 11am. Beverly Center garage is the safest bet — free for the first hour, validated at our desk. Avoid the Trader Joe's lot across the street; tow trucks are aggressive.
Coffee before or after
Two doors down there's a new specialty coffee bar — single-origin pour-overs, no laptops. Bring your SIR receipt within 24 hours of your cut and they'll knock a dollar off your espresso. The pre-cut espresso and post-cut espresso are both core to the West 3rd Street experience.
The cut
Signature Cut (60 min), Signature Cut + Beard Combo (90 min), beard sculpt (30 min), hot towel shave (45 min). Walk-ins welcome Tuesday–Saturday but limited — book ahead if you can.
Why 3rd Street works for barbering
Slow foot traffic, parking that actually exists, and a neighborhood of regulars who walk over instead of driving across town. It's the kind of block where a barbershop can take its time. That's the whole reason the work here is what it is.
