The importance of environment in grooming

Walk into a hotel lobby with bad light and bad music and the room undermines the rooms upstairs. The same is true of a barbershop. The room either lifts the cut or undercuts it.

Light shapes mood

Warm, low, indirect light is calming. Overhead fluorescent is not. Most shops don't think about it. We did.

Music shapes pace

What you hear sets your heart rate. The right music slows the appointment without slowing the cut.

Materials shape calm

Wood, leather, real metal, soft textile — calmer than plastic, glass, and chrome. The room signals the standard of the work.
